Disco still gets a bad rap, according to Henry Wayne Casey, front man for KC & the Sunshine Band. He also eschews any genre label, be it disco or dance.
“I just make music,” Casey said in a recent phone interview.
KC and the Sunshine Band will bring the music they made famous, hits like “Get Down Tonight,” “Boogie Shoes,” “I’m Your Boogie Man” and “That’s the Way (I Like It),” just to name a few, to Morongo Casino, Resort and Spa in Cabazon on July 16.
Multiple generations have been coming to the shows for decades–he said “from babies to grandmothers” since the beginning and the tunes are what keep drawing people out.
“I think the energy and the music is positive,” Casey said.
